A Night to Remember The SpaAsia Crystal Awards Night went almost smoothly - except for an unavoidable technical glitch. However, the discomfort was mitigated by the exciting dance performances of a dance troupe from the Philippines. Also present on the night was the Philippines Ambassador to Thailand, Mr Antonia Rodriguez. The Philippines will be hosting the SpaAsia Wellness Summit in 2007. The 11 categories saw stiff competition. Five of these categories saw the maximum number of nominees vying for the title (Best Hotel Spa, Best Resort Spa, Best Day Spa, Best Destination Spa, and Best Signature Treatment). In one award category, the Best Destination Spa, there was a tie. Dheva Spa at Mandarin Oriental Dhara Devi, Chiangmai and Pangkor Laut Resort, Malaysia emerged as joint winners. To round up the SpaAsia Crystal Awards Night, delegates and everyone else took to the floor for some serious salsa, mambo and Latin grooves courtesy of a band flown in from the Philippines.
